Editor’s Note:  Thanks to all my social media friends that have not posted any season finale spoilers….cuz I heard they are out there.  Yall the real MVP and I can tell yall love us forreal.  If you did spoil it, find your mother and ask why she didnt swallow you as opposed to taking you into her womb and giving you the life you obviously dont have cuz you post power spoilers on the internet…you dumb muthafucka…. …ahem…. Are you high? On crack cocaine?  – Proctor A question that was asked to the feds, but could have been asked of many characters this week?  Ghost, while talkin bout how family dont go behind each other’s back.  Tariq for telling ghost to teach him the the muthafucking game.  Ghost for sitting there making a face and not punching his son thru the concrete for talking to him like that.  Tommy for leaving a dead body out in the open. Angie for not letting the pics be proof of Teresi’s involvement and just HAVING to ask Mak. I could go on, but lets get into this SUPER late ass recap, mkay? Dre Day Poor Dre.  After Diego’s head was found on ice in the club, The Basset Group’s plans to have him start to expand their business was also placed there.  As a result he finds himself on the outs with Alicia, who rightfully sees his weakness and decides to promote Cristobal to distro of the fam.  Filled with righteous indignation and a smug shit eatin grin, he summons his former subordinate to his office and assures him all is okay between the two.  Relieved, Christobal shares how the head of the syndicate wants to give him some head and reveals their plans for a rendevous complete with the time and gps coordinates of the meet.  Still on her quest to take down Dre, Angie approaches him at the office and offers him witness protection for information the feds can use against Alicia, an offer he initially rebuffs…until he remembers how jelly he is.  He goes to her unsecured home later and gives up info on Alicia and Christobal’s meet, info that Angie later uses to arrest La Jiminez and her fugly ass distro…Angie returns to the fed spot victorious, or so she thinks… Angie? You in Danger, Girl I feel like I cheated and used this headline before and I probably have because she is always in danger.  And I always have to tell her because she never knows it.  She starts off the ep getting berated by a man about trust who should never berate anyone about anything remotely having to do with trust, yet here she stands. Pleading her case to Jamie and letting HIM storm off and tell HER he will call her later.  This lady’s life is basically the shambles and you talmbout how you can trust her again? Boy Bye.  Honey Hush. Sugar Stop.  With Kanan taking the rap for having killed the four NYPD cops and Ray Ray with Tasha’s stolen gun, Lady Fed Boss with the most annoying voice in life, is telling her all boy squad + Blanca to move on from Angie, as she has no connection to Kanan.  With The Great Tasha Stolen Gun Caper of ’18 behind her, Angie feels safe enough to turn her attention to her real job – capturing criminals instead of being one.  She, with Dre’s help takes down the remaining Jimenez sibling, and uses her superiority to demand that Mak inform on his informant, even though she snuck in his office and took pics of his informant.  He tells her bout Teresi and his connection to Tommy.  She IMMEDIATELY goes to her man and tells him, who goes and tells the Italians, who summon Tommy, who kills Teresi and leaves him at the family crypt for all the world to see.  Later that night, Lady Fed Boss summons Angie to the office, specifically the Angie room and tells her the jig is up…they know she is tied to Tommy, they fed her info on Teresi and now Teresi is dead – she needs to come clean immediately….and my and her legs almost fell out from under both of us. Mama’s Baby; Daddy’s Maybe Oh, Tommy.  He’s lost SO much…Holly, their unborn child, their dog, his BFF…he’s literally the Robert Barisford Brown of Power – but he still has so much on the line to lose.  As the episode opens, he’s still his daddy’s son.  Rolling round with him, showing him the warehouse, sharing how Milan once offered him cadaver soup, telling him how Ghost used a #3 pencil instead of a #2 on his seventh grade placement test scantron, ya know, just being a good honest boy and his father is responding in kind.  With Connie’s admonishment bouncing around in his head, he just can’t bring himself to pull the proverbial trigger on his son by selling him out to the feds, who are hot on his trail, much to his partner Sammy’s dismay.  Sammy walks right in on Teresi mid-phone call with the feds, where he is putting everything on Ghost and nothing on Tommy.  Sammy, who had a gun put to his head over Tommy, rightfully went apeshit.  Tommy enters right in the middle of their row, demanding to know why his old man and his boy are fighting.  Just as Sammy is about to spill the beans on Teresi’s involvement with the feds, Teresi goes full Soprano and knifes dude repeatedly.  His secret safe for the moment, he has his son help him move the body.  But Tony just thinks he’s safe.  Forces beyond his control were conspiring against him.  As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, Angie finds out about Teresi’s true nature, which leads to his imminent death. He does his old man a solid and takes him to see his dying wife one mo gin before killing him.  Heartbroken and crestfallen, he returns to the one place most of

well damn. did the show we used to all love the hell out of return to form this week? yep! did dumb shit happen yep!  was ghost sporting a poopyface the whole ep? yep! did tariq still make us want to kill him! yep! but at least, despite allalat, we got our show back if ONLY for one week.  Let us bow our heads and read from the book of Power chapter 5 verse 8….I aint gonna keep yall long…. The Student Surpasses the Master I only paid attention to this theme upon watching courtney kemp during the after show.  she mentioned it specifically while discussing Tariq/Kanan, but I can see some other relationships where it cropped up.  Even tho he was the criminal when they met, I submit to you that Angie is a better criminal than Ghost.  That fool sputtering out “if you fucking give me a minute, I can give you these answers,” while under interrogation from Tasha and Angie was absolutely pathetic.  When you contrast that with the cool demeanor Angie has when up against Mak and the entire fed office, it gives you just a sense of how much of Jamie’s big dick energy has been spent.  Our hero further slips in my estimation when Planmaster J is usurped by Taskmaster TMoney….Tasha was on her game this ep.  She aint give a fuck bout Jamie nor his Dre plan, she had her sights on the one mofo she (rightly) blames for her son and daughter’s demise, Kanan.  And what a beautiful plan it was…plant the murder weapon and her ‘missing’ son on Kanan and call the cops on dat ass….brilliant…Ghost could never…We also have Keisha, letting Tasha know she aint as stupid as Tasha treats her like she AND she can make an meal enough to impress some old skool EYE-talians.  Christobal seems to have supassed dre, I mean Mr. Coleman on bullshitting the bullshitters with his casket sharp suit and tales of promoting parties on South Beach….almost everyone was making moves this week for the sole purpose of teaching their teachers, that they are no longer, the proverbial, one. Tariq, Tareek, Tarik sound like something you catch on ya feet! Sorry…had to.  This shit head has done it again…and by it, I mean inspire murderous rage in us….especially Kanan, but more on that later….he’s still stomping around, complaining that his father will do anything for his family and his freedom, that his whole family is some liars, that angela broke his family apart, that wah wah wah, lawd someone shut this child up.  He stands up in his black ass mama’s face and tells her that she a fucking, something, i really dont remember cuz I was busy visualizing what color my mother would have dressed me in at my funeral if I ever in my cotton pickin life talked to her the way he was standing up talking to her in HER HOUSE.  My mother backhanded and forehanded slapped me once for running up a long distance phone bill, so I cant even imagine what she would do if i used the word ‘fucking’ at her.  Anyhoo Kanan sets his defacto son up with some drugs and this boneheaded child doesnt really understand that you have to pay for drugs and that you have to be on the look out for niggas trying to get over aka giving you fake money – a situation he rectified in a way that made his playdaddy proud.  He went to a meet with the Sonny? Sammy? and his Choate level Italian proved useful in helping kanan understand what was being said about him. But where he really stood out was carrying his mother and her wife in law’s plan to fruition….somehow, someway, osmosis perhaps, he plants the gun that was used to kill Ray-Ray in Kanan’s trunk, and lets his mother know his 20, so that she can sic the cops on our soon to be departed….. KANAN THEODORE ALOYISUS STARK, RIP I dont think a number of us fully appreciate how we are gonna miss this grandma murderer, his bubble denim coats, and his one liners.  Kanan literally made me laugh out loud several times this week. Telling Tommy and Ghost that diego’s head was in the bag.  That ghost be making him feel like a kid.  That Tariq aint learning shit.  That he shoulda took a DNA test to determine whether Shawn was his kid or not.  Pure comedy….til it wasn’t.  After having a heart to heart with Tariq, about the circumstances that lead to Shawn’s death and his own paternal feelings about his young shitheaded protege, who he says he would never kill, Tasha’s plan kicks into high gear – the police are behind them.  He tells Tariq in ZERO uncertain terms that he is NOT going back to jail and he was NOT lying.  Upon searching the trunk the police find a gun that appears more magically than that one bullet that hit JFK 18 times. The police ask Tariq if he is being held against his will, as his mother’s call suggests and with a heavy heart, yet clear eyes, he says yes….its probably the one time I’ve seen Kanan genuinely hurt, but that pain is fleeting cuz this man is a true life killer. As the cuff is being placed on him, he uses his free hand to take out the arresting officer, and bout 10 more cops summarily, with one managing to get a body shot off in return…he walks up on one to deliver the kill shot and looks Tariq dead in the face while doing so.  I could smell the shit forming in the colon of our young St. Patrick.  Keeping his word, leaves Tariq alive, takes off in one of the cop car, before careening into a tree…blood spilling from his mouth…Ladies and gents, our Kanan is dead, who bringing the ‘tata salad to the repass? Myalogy Minutes: The feds got a full gangland style

Editors note:  Today’s featured image is all things to me…so much so in fact that I used it instead of my regular Power photo. Listen, I know Im deliquent with these recaps, even skipping some weeks here and there, but cmon…yall watching what Im watching….you get it. It doesnt really inspire me to be on time.  However, yesterday I got a note that I was fucking up and that of the five of you that read this, two of yall really really be looking forward to it, so I will do better.  This week, in my estimation, belongs to the ladies, so that’s where my focus is gonna be. The Gospel According to Angie Everyone’s most hated federal agent was dropping some dimes of TROOF, along with her draws this week.  Some of my margin notes include: “When people are in love they make bad decisions.” and “We’re not girlfriends exactly.” and “I was prosecuting criminals, now I am one.”  DANGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER! Who knew you were so self aware Angie, when you been running round doing horrible shit for years now.  I guess your awakening is better late than ever for you.  But even as she sees her situation with Jamie so clearly, she doesnt seem to grasp how much fucking shit she is in at her job.  She is in shit up to her eyelashes. She has shitlashes. It bears repeating weekly that the ONE phone call she missed from black lady fed boss was enough to turn her against Angie and the rest of the dicks at her job are oh so ready to feed that betrayal.  Last week, as black lady fed boss was telling them to wrap all this shit up, Saxe ran in with a piece of paper that connected every dot…I dont know what was on that paper, but seems kinda flimsy that as much as Angie was covering her tracks, one piece of paper was out there floating around to fuck her to all be damned.  So the feds, instead of suspending her/arresting her on the charge of logging in under black boy cops name to destroy evidence, are letting her flit around and think that finding Mak a new job is the end of her troubles, even tho black baldheaded fed told her literally to watch her six, cuz Angie…you is in danger girl. The Hand of Con Did Mrs. Teresi come thru this week for everyone or did she come thru. Firstly, we find out she is a supremely decent woman, like many long suffering wives.  She has been seen on multiple occasions asking Tony not to flip on his son, to no avail.  She also tells her husband she not only knows about his affair with that AK47 of a woman Kate, but she knows and has always known that they had a lovechild.  This admission rightfully earns Tony the title of this section – a smackdown from the Hand of Con.  I live to see a wrong ass nigga get slapped…sorry but it warms the cackles of my dark heart.  Actually Im not sorry bout that.  I LOVE THAT SHIT.  Connie was right on time as she sat down to dinner with her boys and suggested a BRILLIANT strategy for Tommy’s new money laundering bidness – an ambulance business.  Tommy eyes lit straight the hell up at that before a cloud of doom started to gather.  After being dissed by her son earlier in the day for his new daddy,  Kate made a beeline to the Teresi home like a jilted baby mama who “find my iphone”-ed her baby daddy to his new booty’s crib. She banged down that damn door and rushed in to find them having a straight up Father Knows Best dinner and she was NOT here for it.  She tried Con…tried to tell her that she was tony’s dip and tommy was his kid, but our Con already knew that.  Strike one. Then she tried to go the “this bitch” route, but I submit that Connie knows she’s a bitch and she wears that label like a badge of pride.  Strike two.  Then she tried to appeal to Tommy and Constance Mary Constanza Theresa Teresi told her to stop talking to HER SON.  STRIKE THREE, YOURE OUTTA THERE.  Literally…they threw her ass out the door after that one.  Ouch.  Connie….I hope Cancer knows what its up against. The Last Seduction of Tasha Tasha…poor, poor Tasha.  Unlike the long suffering Mrs. Teresi, her misery hasnt made her sharper, its dulled her.  Smarting from finding out Angela was the one that found the bullet at Ray Rays, Tasha comes home and announces to her husband and their girlfriend that her man, Silver, loves her more than her husband of at least 16 years ever did.  LOL WHAT? Okay, girl but Ill let you tell it.  She tells Planmaster J and his Latinx bed wench that she dont need any further machinations from them and the man with the plan is her man.  She’s gonna go to him and have him cover all their asses.  So off she and her box bounce, and Silver told her eff that noise.  GET YO COAT WE IS GOING DOWN TO THE POLICE.  After being accused of covering for James cuz she still loves him, she tearfully confesses that Tariq is the shooter and she’s just trying to protect her young black man of a son.  For an attorney, I swear that Silver is daft.  Just go to the police Tasha.  He wont get slammed.  You milk dud headed moron, HE KILLED A COP.  He relents and agrees to help her and Tasha then uses one of the few weapons in her arsenal and fucks him into complete and total submission.  Never one to let anyone do anything them damnselves, Jamie later springs into action.  He tells Silver that he knows he been fucking his wife and he better show up for her. Silver tried to play it tough, but Jamie lets

last week, I wanted to start the post with a joke bout how this show is juggling more balls than black chyna, but thats slut shaming so…………….. This week is all about T and A, and for all my T lovers, y’all winning! Sorry A people….imma need yall to level up like me and Ciara and get ya minds out the gutta…in this case the T’s are Tommy and Tasha and the A’s are Angela and Andre, ya filthy animals.  Lets start with the winners…shall we? Tommy Our boy seems back in some sort of good form this week…his brain seems to be firing on all cylinders and he aint with the shits.  Firstly, he made me L the F out L when he asked Ghost why the fuck he cant stay off the tv.  Good question.  He’s paying attention to his job responsibilites ie focusing on how to get Jason them ends.  He agrees to let Kanan in on the shipment, but ONLY if he pays first.  He showed loyalty to Tasha when he chased after her leaving his apartment and most importantly, he got them antennas up on Teresi doing his best Father Knows Best impersonation.  He knows something is awry, cuz why he wanna be family after all this time; and why he wanna play catch now; and why he talking all nice on the phone; and he had forever to snitch, so flipping dont make no sense…oy vey! Tommy is just as confused as I am bout his old man and at least that proves he’s thinking, which has been in dispute since he choked out Holly. Tasha “….nigga you betta kill me.” Come on thru mama bear….Tasha is not with any of the shits, not with her husband and his fuckery, not with Kanan putting his hands on her nor her kid, nor with Tommy not showing and proving he is HER family, like the countless times she’s proven she is his.  She absofuckinlutely correct about them not killing kanan.  He is directly responsible for the ruination of her son and the death of her daughter….and these fools sitting up playing pool together, calling each other cute nicknames and going for burritos.  Nah fam…kill this nigga and bury him in that denim bubble coat or dont, just kill him.  While Ghost is running round fucking some chick and Tommy is getting his mama high, this woman is dealing with her grief, protecting her son from the cops, colluding with her husbands ex-heaux, and breaking thru and connecting with her son in a scene that gave me all the feels, and some questions…why they arriving at Choate in the middle of the night and why Ghost aint there dropping his kid off at school? Plus she developed a heightened case of ESP, but more on that later….. on to the losers…. Angela In the last paragraph I called her a heaux, in this one she just a straight up hoe and a dumb one at that.  This woman and her box is bringing all the feds to the yard.  First Latin agent asks her if she’s fucking Diego Jimenez, as if that wasnt enough of a drag.  Then one of his underlings just happens to be in town, happens to bump into her, happens to mention his boss was talmbout her last week and THEN he invites her to dinner where he strains the fact that he’s only here one night.  Maam? Why the fuck are you at this dinner? With a complete stranger? And why when La Latin Cop Lady is all up in your kool-aid are you focused on anything other than her? Yet here you are post dinner in your skivvies, bout to give it up to a nigga that dont give a fuck bout you or your job.  Your two niggas ago nigga died, and then your last nigga ended up on death row and almost took you down with him. He wont stop blowing up your phone and he got you sharing tea and scones with the woman he would leave for you….its okay to take a chill pill and stuff it straight up your vag, fam. Andre Everybody like everybody more than they like you dre.  Kanan dont like you.  Ghost dont like you.  Tommy dont like you.  Tasha dont like you.  Glasses and Killer dont like you.  I doubt Christobal really likes you and we know for damn sure that Diego dont like your ass.  At this point, if you got shot, it would be a murder mystery.  You gonna die this season, but the only question is who will have done it?  You are losing a serious grip on your organization, even the black contingency.  Diego is speaking Spanish directly to Christobal, a skill you should have as a dope boy in NYC, which is a sure sign he dont respect you and you cant do shit about it except push glasses on the way out after being dismissed.  Poor tink tink, dont feel good to get usurped does it? and now on to the MVP ESP Did anyone have a better week than extra sensory perception? It lead Tasha to discover that her husband murdered someone she couldnt have thought he had any reason to murder.  It lead Angela to discover that La Jimenez was part of the organization, which she pulled right out her ass.  That ESP, I gotta get me some of that.  ESP is life. Myalogy Minutes: Did anyone else feel sexy when Kanan robbed Christobal?  Just me? Fine. I honestly forgot Truth was still Jamies. I honestly also never considered the ramifications of Raina’s murder, like the actual police investigation.  I like it being included in the story line. Dre and his boys look like “Our Gang” walking up in the spot…aint nobody scared of Spanky and Alfalfa. Can anyone hit me up and tell me how the Feds know Teresi is Tommy’s dad?  Was it on his birth certificate? Its horrible that

Telling y’all right now – you’re gonna be mad at me.  I’m warning you.  I had empathy for Young Riq last night.  Well really Saturday, cuz I’m a nerd with ZERO LIFE who watches at the stroke of midnight.  ANYWAY….. As some of you may know, Executive Producer 50 Cent was miffed at Starz for not seeing the value in his runaway smash show.  Apparently Court & the Gang wanted 12 eps this season to fully flesh out their story and Starz said: NO BUENO. Take these 10 and beat it.  As a result, a lot of us along with 50 are slightly displeased with the pacing of the show.  This Tasha/Silver love is perplexing and out of nowhere.  Kanan turned on Jukebox rather quickly and conveniently.  No one really seems to care Ghost got out of prison.  Like when Tommy picked him and Tariq up.  That was his FIRST time seeing Ghost and not he aint even get that complicated (to me) ass handshake they do or an ebonically tinged “Welcome Home muthafuckah” or nothing.  But, we still love the shit, so…… The Emancipation of TashTash Season 1 Ghost made the mistake of putting Tasha in a box and perhaps he was right to do so at the time, but now Tasha is coming into her own.  She’s always been cunning and able to code switch, without question.  Now she is seeing who and what she and her life are sans Ghost.  Again, I’m not buying this Silver shit.  It’s inauthentic as fuck.  It wasn’t properly set up.  There were no knowing glances or a handshake with FUCK ME EYES.  He legit met her to prep her for testifying once Proctor was dismissed and the next time they met she was all “I need you.”  WHAT IN THE ENTIRE? No. And I don’t like that milk dude head of his.  I may be more for this if Larenz was in this role instead of the other, but whatevs. In this ep alone, Tasha put Ghost in his fucking place, got to show off her 3LW chops, stood tall in that farce of a tv interview, got a new big rock she can sell when Jamie and Silver both leave her, connected with her daughter and got that pussy dicked out (that is still funny, #RIP CO Darkness).  At the end of the day, she is a girl from the hood, but not totally of it and the person she is with Silver is exactly reflective of the transformation Ghost experienced becoming Jamie.  Them tight assed suits ain’t just fall out the sky. They were always in him.  This lady’s better weave was always in her.  C’mon somebody.  Holla if you hear me. Last Name Sandoval, First Name No Fux This muthafucka here!  The walls are closing in on the AUSAs – quickly.  Mak, the only person that wasn’t suspended, is on all of their asses like lil Duval on an unfunny ass joke. He has been keeping close tabs on the entire team, even going so far as to tap phones.  He knows that Saxe met with Beecher.  He knows that Donovan is the one that found the weapon and arrested James.  He knows that Sandoval has time alone in Truth that no one can account for and he tells him as much, cautioning him to not leave town. This last bit is what sends Sandoval over the edge.  After repeated events to get the rest of the feds to focus on the black man, Agent Donovan, Sandoval set out to tie up loose ends on his own.  He goes to Agent Donovan’s apartment with his silenced piece, I guess ready to shoot the man in his own crib WHICH WOULDN’T AROUSE ANY SUSPICION AT ALL, RIGHT? Unfortunately for him, Donovan’s daughter answers the door and lets him know her dad ain’t home.  The man he was attempting to kill is sitting with Angela, discovering that Sandoval went upstairs at Truth – alone.  Shoulda turned off them security cameras a WEE bit earlier, playa. The Age of Tariq Literally and figuratively.  My boy and I were talking and he said Tariq is old enough to be able to handle the truth.  Well, I don’t think he is out of elementary school yet, which puts him at no older than 14, but with the things life has been throwing at him lately, he should be mature enough to handle the truth – except those closest to him won’t give it to him.  This boy has been on a hell of a ride lately. Family destroyed. Lied to by nearly everyone. Hooked on drugs.  Father arrested for murder. Learned the truth about Shawn’s death. Manipulated by someone he trusted – and listen, this is a major point – he’s literally been fed the truth about his family by someone who has every right to hate his family. Ghost and Tasha fucked over Kanan.  They are NOT good people.  When he told Tommy it was becoming hard to figure out who was good and bad, that was spot on.  It’s a crushing reality when you find out your parents are people. I think there is a compulsion to look down on him, cuz we all hate him, but most teenagers are nefarious little pieces of shit caught between becoming who they are and still needing you to pay for the cell phone they use to call you and tell you how much they hate you.  The little steps most of us took to push back against our parents didn’t lead to a crazy lesbian holding us hostage with a gun to our heads.  It’s no wonder he wants to assert his independence and numb himself to everything going on around him. And sorry Raina, he aint going to no white ass Choate. Someone DOES Win When the Family Feuds – Dre With Julito permanently out the way, Dre is awarded his most coveted distro position over our Latin lover’s decomposing body, but not

Fuck it. Imma just start calling show creator Courtney Kemp by her new name – The Undertaker.  This mofo’n lady killing folks off like flies!  Now go grab your fancy internet boutique dress and your MKMKMKMKMKMK Kors bag and pull out ya baby daddy’s oversized court suit.  Sign the book, take your seat, have a swig from your flask, check your Facebook and let’s start this funeral. Share ya programs, cuz I done ran out. Kanan and Ghost’s Excellent Adventure Could be me, but shouldn’t Ghost have been a wee bit more terrified when a man he thought he killed rolled up on him in broad daylight?  A gasp or something, at the very least.  So Kanan pulls up with the gun, forces Jamie into the car and reveals that he and Jukebox have Tariq and are holding him for ransom.  Ghosts confesses to Kanan that as a newly freed man, he has no money.  Kanan lets him know it’s gonna be lights out for a lil nigga if he doesn’t come up with that bag.  So Ghost thinks of the one person the audience has been thinking of as a resource the entire time: Tommy – he wants to rob Tommy’s stash house.  Kanan remarks glibly at Ghost’s betrayal of yet another friend…he doesn’t think much of Jamie and rightfully so.  Jamie is a piece of shit at the end of the day.  Anyway, the robbery goes off with only one hitch (turn to page 7 of your programs) and the money is theirs.  En route to Tariq, Ghost kicks off one of his “remember when” convos and I guess that shit worked. I don’t know what memory a nigga could conjure up to make me forget he sent me to jail for ten years, tried to burn me up, and basically fucked my life, but hey….Kanan surrenders his gun to Ghost, who should have shot him in the face right then.  They French kiss then decide to take Juke on together. They enter the crib and find she has a gun to Tariq’s head.  Ghost makes a false move and reveals his piece and Juke knows she’s been betrayed.  She delivers a standard issue villain monologue and Kanan counters with a standard issue death row confession, including the admission that he killed Shawn.  She begins to “talk too much” according to Kanan, and he shoots her in her chest.  He grabs his money bag, bids Tariq an un-fond adieu, and walks out the door, alive and well enough to return to kill Ghost another season. Tommy’s Kind of Town Our boy is here in the City of Wind! He is here to meet with the “Chicago” in “Chicago is pleased” – Jason Mitchitch, er, Mistich, er, Mistych, or whatever, sounds like something you catch on your feet! Rimshot! Y’all, I didn’t even know it was a big boss, let alone a regular old white one. Didn’t see that coming. I thought all dope dealers were black! He tells Tommy he wants him to be the boss of America, and all he has to do is cut all ties with Ghost.  Tommy bristles at this, but agrees.  Jason insists Tommy stay around so they can get it in Chi-style.  Later that evening, Tommy is sitting around holding court with Jason and his gaggle of hoes, telling unfunny stories and copping to murder – Milan’s murder.  This confession elicits a wide-eyed exchange between Jason and one of his henchmen, so we know some fuck shit is coming.  Upon leaving the spot, Tommy is thrown in the trunk and driven out to a hole in the ground – bound and tied on his knees. Just then, Petyr appears and tells Tommy “nah nah boo boo, you killed Milan, now Jason’s gonna kill you!”  Tommy reasons with Jason that Petyr is lying, that he told Tommy the hit on Milan was sanctioned by Chicago, and that Petyr is playing both of them.  Out of nowhere, Tatiana, Milan’s ex, that is still alive for some reason, arrives and tells Jason that he should trust Tommy. Petyr gets the bullet and a nice resting place next to Nicky Santoro (turn to page 9 of your programs). Now off his knees, Tommy cracks a joke to Jason, and heads home to New York, but decides to make a pit stop in Ohio.  He pays a visit to Holly’s uncle, who molested her starting at age 9.  The unsuspecting scumbag is showing Tommy a house he has listed and soon finds himself on the business end of a bat that was just conveniently laying around.  Unrest in Hell, Uncle Molester.  9 year old girls don’t ask to be hurt by those they trust. Kill Jul-Z Well damn. Looks like Julio doesn’t have to worry bout being disrespected by his primeras or anyone else for that matter.  Having seen Dre talk to Kanan the last episode, he confronts him.  Dre triple talks his way out of the situation and plays him like a chick that confronts her manse over some shit she found in his phone only to have the old “I CANT BELIEVE YOU WENT THRU MY PHONE” shit pulled on her. He quickly switches the issue from Kanan to Cristobal.  He positions Cristobal as the loose lips that will sink the ship and tells Julio that he needs to be replaced, and wonder of wonders, Dre has the perfect replacement!  Ever the lapdog, Julio wants to run this by Tommy, but Dre convinces him to finalize things with this new primera, then go to Tommy with a problem that already has a solution.  Julio agrees.  Bad move Julio.  Dre leaves the meet and sets up another meet with Cristobal and El Toros Locos Dude, where he offers them Julio on a silver platter – his only request being that it does NOT appear to be a gang hit since Ghost negotiated for Julio’s freedom.  Later, Julio arrives at the meet to find the men sent to

OH MY LAWWWWWWWD LAWD LAWD LAWD MMHHHHMMMMMMM COURRRRRRTTTTTNEY!  Ms. Kemp you done did your thing this week.  After a season opening that’s left me kinda unmotivated to write, you kicked a muthafuckas teeth in several times.  I apologize Madame Showcreator, I shalt not underestimate you again! This one had a lot, Myalogists…..Sex, Murder, Mayhem, Romance for the streets on dat ass….Julio’s fine fine ass.  Sorry boys…..leggo! The Courtship of Tommy’s Father It’s all but obvious now.  Teresi’s interest in Tommy led to the probably the second most (R.I.HELL HOLLY) shocking moment in Power history.  Since being cut off from Jamie’s teat last week, the old man done conjured up some muthafuckin SHIT to get his hooks back in our hero.  In a super duper elaborate cross and double cross plan that puts all of Jamie’s plans to collective shame, Teresi puts the cables on CO Darkness and tells him that Jamie and Proctor conspired to get him reassigned.  Wishing for the moment Jamie would, CO Darkness is too happy to receive this news and runs up on Jamie – alone in the weight room.  This fool starts talking cash money shit to Jamie, and references, ahem, “DICKING TASHA’S PUSSY OUT.”  WHAT?! I’ve never heard that phrase in my life.  OOOOOH that tickled me – but it aint tickle Jamie, who start beatin dat ass, eventually picking up a weight and bashing this nigga’s brains, skull, medusa oblongata, Malcolm X glasses, cerebral cortex, thoughts, fears, hopes, dreams, cornea, sclera, big white teefus and sinuses in.  (y’all, I kept waiting for that bashing to end with the inevitable, “it was all a dream” moment, but nah.)  Just at that moment Teresi and Black Baldhead Convict™ rush in, in what seems like an ambush on Jamie, but nope!  Teresi turns on BBC™, chokes him the fuck out, makes Jamie trade his blood soaked clothes with the soon to be dead man, and stages a fight/suicide scenario.  Looks like those experimental treatments for Ms. Teresi will continue.  Jamie and Teresi are now linked forever, with Teresi demanding that Jamie give Tommy a cell to contact him with a slight admission that yes…he is Tommy’s dad….or something. The Stern Empire Strikes Back Everybody’s most hated smarmy assed nightlife impresario returns.  After being tricked out of three of his clubs by his ex-wife and Jamie, Stern is back, with a sympathetic disposition and a shit load of cash he wants to float the family.  First, he pays an unannounced visit to a visibly stunned Jamie and hits him with the old “hey millionaires always bail each other out” bullshit.  Jamie ain’t going tho – cuz Jamie is speshul, Jamie is important and Jamie is smart – unlike his wife.  Tasha also runs into Simon Stern, as she calls him, and is lured into his siren’s song offer of help.  She takes his card, after reassuring him the family was good, and ends up calling even after she KNOWS Jamie has been freed.  I didn’t get that move at all.  Let ya manse get home and do what he does best – hustle to get your family back on top.  You don’t take the white man’s help Tasha?! Ain’t you seen Claudine? Sprinting Like You Stole Something Paz says this to her sister near the top of the show in a conversation that left me feeling very bereft that I can’t speak Spanglish.  Why yes Paz, she did steal something…she stole a man’s freedom! She spends the rest of this episode trying to right that wrong.  First she sets up a meet with Proctor, and has him set up a meet with Jamie.  She shares with Jamie and Silver that the feds are planning to confront him with Tommy’s loan, which they feel is payment for killing Greg, thus allowing them time to prepare a defense and get Jamie’s initials embroidered in his tie.  She tries to share with Sandoval that the security tape proves Jamie’s innocence, but he ain’t hearing it.  He tells her to have a tall glass of shut the fuck up and chill out. Having been burned by not speaking up about the traffic stop, Angie arranges to testify on Jamie’s behalf, accusing the prosecution of misconduct.  She and the feds start turning on each other like two kids whose black ass mama just told them if they don’t fess up both of them getting it.  The judge was SUPER disgusted by all of them and begrudgingly dismissed the charges against Jamie.  I dropped one lone gangsta tear – our man in tight suits is coming home! Myalogy Minutes: DICK THAT PUSSY OUT.  It bears repeating a second time. #ripcharliemurphy What the fuck is this Tasha/Silver shit?  Please. Tommy got a big old bong, y’all.  I <3 Tommy. “Chicago’s Losing Their Patience.”  “Chicago Needs Answers Soon.”  – Petyr knows our hearts, y’all. He hears our cry. Aint no handshake, bih – Proctor to Angie. Julio – Imma tell y’all one day how my date to the Power Premiere screening started some shit with me cuz he knew…he knew I couldn’t be in the same room with Julio. We may need to start paying attention to episode 5’s.  Holly bit it in ep 3.5 Tariq’s grey fit was nice.  See God, I told you I could say something nice about him weekly.  Men’s reactions to their boy children fucking is so different than it would be to their girl children. Nice to see Tommy unburden himself of the Holly sitch. Speaking of which, when “family” is breaking down and confessing, a hug would be nice, Tasha Tommy downed the hell outta that juice. Julio saw Kanan…he better say something to the man that saved his life: Ghost. Dre keeps me confused.  Who he working for? The feds sat there and attacked Angela, but kept her around all this time KNOWING she was a liability.  Fight yaselves, dicks. How the fuck is Kanan walking round partying and shit and ain’t nobody said nothing to

We’re in this together. That’s not only the title of this episode, but a line that is spoken by nearly all of the characters: Angie to Tasha, Tasha to Jamie, Procter to Jamie and Tommy to Proctor.  Last week, I briefly mentioned the mirrored dialogue in the show and that trend continues this week. Question before we start — who has the higher body count?  Tommy, Hannibal Lecter or R.Kelly?  I KEED. I KEED.  Prolly Kelz tho, right?  I SAID I WAS KIDDING! Let me stop.  Nothing is funny bout that piece of shit. And now, for those of you that were more interested in how CO Darkness was gonna abuse Jamie than ol girl returning to her GOBSMACKINGLY GORGEOUS DRAGON LAIR…. Lawyers Gonna Lawyer This season the lawyers, Proctor in particular, are doing a bang up job.  As Angela continues to get shitted on due to the DNA evidence and her box getting tossed, her male counterparts are making major moves. Proctor put the cables on black baldhead Fed, so hard he turned dude into the “Angry Black Man,” cast aspersions on his character and got the gun thrown out.  Kim Tall Un Mak cast aspersions on the validity of Proctor repping Jamie and Tommy and got him thrown off the case.  Angie cast aspersions on Jamie’s loyalty to his family, which placed small cracks in Tasha’s loyalty to Jamie.  Proctor casts aspersions on Angie’s belief that Jamie is a selfish murderer, which causes her to review the security footage of Jamie’s Truth office, which shows that at NO point did Jamie hide that gun there…..which means someone else did.  DUN-DUN-DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN. Tommy Teresi I mean that’s gotta be it right?  This dude gotta be Tommy’s dad or someone super close to him.  Tommy continues to be the most interesting character at this point in the season.  To date we’ve seen him fuck and finesse Keisha; handicap the Dominican Shrek; threaten Dre; hold down Tasha and the kids; and murder a federal agent.  Tommy bout that action, boss.  He makes the drop per Jamie’s request and comes face to face with one of Teresi’s associates, who shows his hand and KINDA admits to a mob hit he and Teresi committed, which is enough evidence for Jamie to call Teresi’s bluff.  When Teresi asks to see Tommy, Jamie not only tells him that aint gonna happen, but the blackmail is over too.  Teresi may know who Jamie is, but Jamie also knows who Teresi is and what he’s done….acts that would put his dying wife’s life in further peril.  Teresi appears to get the picture, but we never know.  He also meets with Proctor, who tells him an agent has incriminating taped evidence on our boys. Tommy demands to be there when the tapes are played – one on which Tommy admits to killing Lobos with Ghost and one on which Tommy is heard murdering Ruiz. Fearful that the tapes will get out, Tommy shanks ol boy with no remorse in PROCTOR’s crib and wipes the bloody knife on Proctor’s shirt.  They are TRULY in this together now. Julio Dangerfield No respect.  Not from Tommy, who has zero tissues for his issues, especially when Dre’s money is late.  Not from Dre, who gave no fucks to be on time for his drop and didn’t even bother to explain why he wasn’t at the primera meeting.  Not from the Taino leader, who told him straight to his face told him he didn’t trust him to do his job and then turns around and talks shit to Dre about his distrust of Julio. I sincerely doubt any of this would be happening if Tommy was still distro.  Haven’t any of these people heard of a learning curve?  The White People’s President is getting one here in Murrica, surely someone as fine as Julio should be getting some adjustment time. Got Til It’s Gone St. Patrick Family bank accounts – gone.  Weave Got the Fun – gone.  Truth – gone.  The feds are squeezing the life out of Jamie and his family, which is weird cuz his crimes aren’t financial, but hey…I’m not a lawyer.  If someone got me on this one, hit me up. Myalogy Minutes Jamie looked fine as hell pushing that weight off his almost lifeless body. Four seasons in and I STILL love the theme song CO Darkness has killed before and will have to kill again at another prison if Proctor efforts are successful I hate this niglet lawyer. “Are you trying to get me to slap the fuck out you?”  Slap her Tasha….or at least have your mom no one has seen lately do it. Kills me how Kanan’nem just sitting up in that old dead ladies apartment.  Aint nobody looking for her? Kesha’s eyes are greener than Badu’s upon learning Tommy’s getting out her bed to sleep on Tasha’s couch. Someone told me the actress playing Raina is 21 which is crazy, cuz her body reads 11 and her face reads 211. Tariq’s probably gonna end up in jail just as Jamie is released. He is the only common thread at the burglarized houses. Speaking of that dick…he’s moved from hoops and syrup to hitting blunts and boo-tay. Alright Tommy!  Gone and fuck the doubts out your girl! Silver being Jamie’s only way out terrifies me. Whatchall think?

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I’ve been quite neglectful of this space for a momentito.  Trying to get some ducks in a row; make a dollar out of fifteen cents; find an exit route from indenture servitude, and get a window seat, cuz adulting has been too real lately.   So real that when the homey Micaeh hit me up and asked me to attend a screening of the season premier of Power, I RSVP’d before she could send the next invite out.  Adulting threatened my being able to attend, which pissed me the hell off, but a hail mary gave me a last minute save and I was able to make it. So welcome Myalogists, to the most vague Powerful Thoughts you will ever read.  I will not spoil this for you because some of you know where I live and or work and I dont wanna have to kill any of you in self defense over a fucking tv show. I felt it was a really good solid premiere.  Probably a 9 out of 10.  The show we love is still in formation.  It picks up exactly where it left off. You will not find yourself sitting there asking “what happened to blank?” nor “who’s doing the thing that they was doing last season?” Which means: Ghost is in jail. Angela is still an insufferable bitch. Tariq is still missing. Tommy’s still cool as fuck. Julio is still fine. Tasha’s wig budget has not increased. <redacted> is <redacted> and is probably gonna <redacted> with <redacted> and I was very happy bout that. What I will say is this: You will want to cuntpunch Angela. You will be sad everytime you see CharlieMurphy on the screen. You will want to hug Tommy. You will want to laugh at Ghost til you remember that you used to love him before he had a fucking plan every five minutes. Tasha will make you want to get all of your financial affairs in order even if your mate got that bag. You will wonder why Angie aint on the show.  If you dont know who Angie is, your mother watched CBS soap operas and didn’t love herself. Thats all Im gonna say for now.  Ill be back with the recaps after the episode airs. Til then…..

Powerful Thoughts 3.10 ~ FINITO ~

Well Powerfans, we’ve reached the conclusion of the third season. It felt very much like the second season of the wire to me….the “white” season, which on the surface, the first time around, was a nuisance and a distraction from my beloved towers and corner boys, but upon the conclusion of the series, stands up against any other season, except maybe the school system/kids season. I’m hoping that once its all said and done, this third season just seems like a sort of shit show, but once the story is concluded, will assume its rightful place in my perspective. Editor’s Note: Please know, I woke up at 6am Sunday morning, and discovered the world as I knew it had changed….this got damn episode was NOT on Comsucksfinity or whatever they calling themselves these days onDemand. I. WAS. LIVID. To the Facebook I go, and see folks commenting….WTF? Bada boom, bada bing, abracadabra, threats for passwords, I saw it. And still wrote this review three days later….I am a loser. Anyway, in the words of Stringer Bell, lets get to it muthafuckas…… Here Lies Gregex P. Keaton We open the show with Gregex showing up to the site where Ruiz’s body is found and retrieving the button recorder which has captured Tommy running his trap too damn much and killing Ruiz and his dumb hat. Cut to Greg in his office, cueing up the recorder when he is interrupted by some black dude I dont remember seeing before, who starts checking him for not reporting Ruiz’s death. Gregex rushes dude off, leaves and drops in on Nick Nolte, Homeland Security™, who breaks it to him that the tapes are inadmissible. He is not deterred, he feels like he can get folks to flip on each other. He first tries his bullshit with Ghost, who seems to have recovered some brain cells cuz he tells Greg he aint going…if he had something he would have arrested him. FOILED AGAIN MR. KEATON! He eturns home only slightly defeated, calls over Agent Sandoval and begins to tell him how he got the goods on Angie, Tommy and Ghost when he is interrupted by a phone call – its the Federales, calling to say, that they havent been in communication with anyone in his office, regardless of the fact that Sandoval said one of his tips regarding Lobos came from them. RUH ROH. Greg, now remembers Sandoval leaving Hugo’s crib and confronts him with this information, assuring him that they can make it alright if he just surrenders himself. Trump got these white men thinking they can save the world and make it great again, but who they cant save is themselves. Sandoval has not one second of time for that flimflam…..him and his silencer are gonna silence Greg permanently. He shoots and kills Greg and leaves the dirty Lobos burner phone in Greg’s desk. Agent Clarice Starling’s case is now officially closed. Gregex P. Keaton goes down as the mole. All Lean is Not Created Equal Tariq, (god is he still alive?) is yes, Mya, still alive and still hanging out with Kanan, who puts Tariq to the test to see if these hoes are indeed loyal…and SUPRISE CBreezy, they are. He tells Tariq to drop a package off to someone who seems to be an undercover officer. He cuffs Tariq and puts him in the back of a squad car driven by the biggest mama of them all, Jukebox. They aggressively question him, but he wont break. Kanan interrupts the interrogation and is visibly pleased by his lil pup. They all go back to dearly departed Meemaw’s crib for a celebratory round of lean, which is, according to Jukebox, mixed differently in DC than NYC. This superlean knocks Tariq clean out, while they decide what to do with him. Kanan wants to just have him break into his homies crib and make him a professional thief, but Juke has other designs….she wants to ransom, as a verb, Tariq, get Ghost to pay and still kill his kid, breaking him in his pockets and his heart. Kanan reluctantly (HUH? You killed your own son and was JUST bout to throw a baby out a window -literally) agrees and he and a comatose Tariq pose for a very rapey picture, which they promptly text to Tasha, who has just returned home from Truth and is desperately trying to reach an unreachable Ghost. The Best Laid Plans Our “hero” does have a plan and it includes him becoming the Black Spiderman to break into Greg’s crib to retrieve the recorder, after he sees Greg at the Ruiz murder scene. No sooner than he scales the fire escape and enters Greg’s apartment thru a window, does he find his dick FIRMLY in the dust…….He sees Angies drawls (draws?) and I am unable to can stop laughing….I love seeing folks catch the vapors…Its my PLEASURE. He looks up and sees the evidence wall targeting him and is completely broken. Just then Angie enters, he hides, and attempts to make a smooth getaway when she leaves, but — not gonna happen. He has to take off his pesky gloves to close Gregs window and make as much noise as possible while making his exit. Dropping shit down four stories, losing his Spidey sense and he aint even get what he came for. Shameful. He later meets up with Tommy and it appears Tommy is on his side, although I cant say I would be at this point. He tells Ghost that Milan plans to kill him later that night at Truth after he signs the Karen contracts, so they can continue business as usual with Dre at the helm of Truth. Fast forward to party time and everyone looking all shaaaaaab and happy, even Tasha, whose weave is remains a case. Ghost meets with Karen to sign the papers, under Milan’s watchful eye. Milan thinks its go time and steps to Ghost, ready to make his move, when Ghost tells
